Startup Treat

Do not add this product directly to an oxidizer (such as chlorine, bromine, non-chlorine shock, hydrogen peroxide, etc.). Add directly to the pool/spa or a clean bucket of water.

1. PREPARE THE POOL: Remove all debris from the pool. Ensure the filtration system is ready for operation but do not turn on the pump until the pool is fully filled.
2. BEGIN FILLING: Start filling the pool with water. Do not stop the filling process until the water reaches the middle of the tile line.
3. ADD STARTUP TREAT™ (Crucial Step): When the water level reaches 6 to 12 inches deep in the bowl: Add 64 oz. (1/2 gallon) per 10,000 gallons of pool water directly into the deep end of the pool. 
4. Note: Adding the product early allows the wetting agents to penetrate the fresh plaster immediately and the polymers to disperse dust as the water rises.
5. FINISH FILLING: Continue filling the pool to the normal operating level. The rising water will naturally mix the product, coating the entire plaster surface to prevent dust adhesion and scale formation.
6. START CIRCULATION: Once full, turn on the circulation pump and run continuously for 24 to 48 hours. Startup Treat is non-acidic and safe for heaters, pumps, and salt cells.
7. MAINTENANCE (Brushless Technology): Startup Treat™ utilizes advanced anionic dispersants to keep plaster dust suspended in the water, allowing the filter to remove it.
8. Brushing: Heavy brushing is typically not required. If any dust settles, lightly sweep it toward the main drain.
9. Filter Cleaning: Clean or backwash the filter when pressure rises 8–10 psi above clean starting pressure, as it will be capturing a significant amount of plaster dust.
10. CHEMICAL DOSING (Protect Your Plaster):
11. Chlorine: Add chlorine slowly. DO NOT SHOCK. High chlorine levels can damage fresh plaster surfaces. Instead, add less than 1 lb (granular) or 1 gallon (liquid) of chlorine twice a week to maintain a residual. The use of chlorinating tablets in a floater or inline chlorinator is recommended for best results.
12. Conditioner (Stabilizer): Add conditioner/stabilizer only as necessary. IMPORTANT: Dissolve the granules completely in a bucket of water to create a slurry before pouring it gently around the perimeter of the pool. WARNING: NEVER BROADCAST CONDITIONER DIRECTLY INTO THE POOL. Undissolved stabilizer pellets sitting on fresh plaster can cause permanent bleaching or spotting.
